The other day I was pondering the so-called "facts" of the homosexual gene. Now, if one believes in evolution (I personally do not), then it follows that homosexuality (if indeed it is caused by some mysterious gender-confused gene) is an aberration from nature and a non-beneficial mutation!
If the idea behind evolution is for genes to perpetuate and replicate themselves then homosexuality is the greatest blunder of evolution! Homosexuality cannot perpetuate itself and is therefore self-defeating! The fact that homosexuals still need women, and lesbians still need men to replicate themselves point to the fact that homosexuality is a deviance from the natural norm! That means that if homosexuals and lesbians do not cross-polinate with straights they cannot perpetuate their genes and therefore the so-called homosexual gene should be eliminated within a generation or so!
However, I expect that most of us (if not all of us) know that homosexuality and lesbianism are indeed aberrations. Most simply find it convenient to ignore their consciences by shouting very loud in the public arena that these conditions are normal!
The fact is that the highest authority, higher than countries' laws and judges, has spoken out on this issue. God has declared homosexuality and lesbianism sinful.
In Rom 1:18 the apostle Paul writes that "the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth." There is definitely a lot of suppressing going on in the homosexual (for lack of a better word) community. Paul continues to write that there is no excuse for people not to know about the existence of God since God made it clear in the creation of the universe (vv19-20).
People who continue to claim that either God does not exist or who claim He is different to what He really is, become fools (vv22-23). It is because of their own foolishness that "God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!" (vv24-25) Aberrations like homosexuality are a direct result of idolatry! Because of this idolatry, the apostle Paul writes quite emphatically that it is for "this reason [that] God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done." (vv 26-28)
Notice that homosexuality is not the only result of such a debased mind, even though it is highlighted and made to stand out apart from the general list! Paul carries on to mention several more sins (undoubtedly not an exhaustive list in verses 29-31), "They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless." Verse 32 warns us that though "they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them."
It is very convenient for many of us to stop reading this passage at verse 28 and then to conclude that homosexuality is a vile sin and will be punished in hell! The fact is that all sin, homosexuality as much as any other sin, deserve to be punished before a Holy God! God is an exacting God and any aberration from His holy standard must be judged as inferior and punishable by eternal death.
Yet, even though God hates sin and all wicked people (which includes all humanity!), because of His grace and mercy He sent Christ to die for His people as a propitiation to turn away the wrath of God for those that believe in Jesus Christ!
Even though we are beset on all sides with sin, there is a way; and that way can only be found in Christ!

I hope you read this and I hope you read a book afterward. Yes, deviations from the norm are in fact deviations. However, that doesn't mean these deviations are natural. Errors in cell processes can cause a number of defects. If you child is born with Crigler-Najjar syndrome, he is not normal. Is that sinful?--to be born into a form you can't control?
Speaking of evolution, things, such as homosexuality, DO follow along with the path of evolution. All genetically inherited things do. Anything that gets in the way of reproduction (like homosexuality) is selected against and thus remains in a small portion of human kind. Our society is actually what keeps homosexuality from running its course whatever it may be (my suggestion is to prevent overpopulation or to have a population of non-reproducing people whose purpose is to ensure the future of human kind with their works during their lifetimes) by forcing them into heterosexual relationships where they have sex with a vessel they sexually despise just so you can have your American dream, you Jesus freak.
In addition, you give genes, and thus God, too little credit. There are not two sexual phenotypes--there are more than 3. Sexuality is measured on a continuum, not a coin-toss. There's as many sexual phenotypes as there are phenotypes for skin color. And here is evolution again--most of them allow for reproduction. So there are people who are only gay, only straight, and anywhere in between, leaning to one extreme over the other or right in the middle. Do a Punnet square right now. Alright good. Now you see that there are actually more bisexuals and gays than heteros. And that's just classical Mendelian genetics. We haven’t even factored in the multifactorial nature of sexuality at all! Now, why would God create an abomination? Is it so that he can have VIP spots in hell? Is it so that you can sentence them to that place? or are you simply reading too deeply into a bible that has been rewritten, deleted, added, and edited by many, many (some evil) people in many, many languages over many, many years? The word "homosexual" didn’t even exist until the time period it was added into the bible. Yes, added. If you want to read the real bible, it's available in Hebrew and Aramaic.
Is it sinful to have in your body lethal quantities of a waste product that is thoroughly removed from the bodies of normal people (Crigler-Najjar)? Is it sinful to have brown skin? Is it sinful to be sexually attracted to someone of the same gender because your proteins are different from the norm (homosexuality)? Fuck you. This is not a matter of right and wrong nor natural and unnatural. Let GOD judge for himself what is right and wrong and let GOD decide what to do with you for calling His creations unnatural. I’m straight and a Christian and I'm so happy that I’m in the majority so that I don’t get JUDGED by crazy Christians like you. If you learn nothing else from the Bible, know this: Love your neighbor and don't judge people. Jesus Christ did not make an example of himself for us to hate people who are different. I hope you have the same hatred with children born downs syndrome or only one arm. It’s all about proteins, not Adam and eve. And God, created proteins. There’s just so much wrong with the treatment of non-straight people by the church yet so much in it. Look to your pastors, wives, husbands, and children—you helped to closet these people. I hope you're proud of yourself. In the mean time, I'm going to prepare for next year's Day of Silence where Church people throw bibles and rocks at me and tell me I'm going to hell. Ahhh, christianity--the religion where you get to pick and choose what you believe in.
I would like to urge you to study "Turner Syndrome" and "Klinefelter's syndrome". Both are chromosome disorders. In Klinefelters, men are born with XXY or even XXXY chromosomes instead of just XY. Likewise, in Turner Syndrome, women are born with a single X chromosome rather than XX. Oftentimes, these people feel a whole lot of gender confusion. The men usually feel extremely feminine and the women are usually tall and lanky, both with little to no sexual development as most experience in puberty. To say that genetics (or meiosis) cannot be a factor in homosexuality is extremely uneducated.
No one wakes up one morning and says, "Ooh! I think I'll be gay today!" It's extremely easy to have all the answers to homosexuality until you or someone you are very close to goes through it and then you suddenly realize, it's a lot more complex that it may seem from a distance.
I want you to hear this quote by the late Baptist preacher, Browning Ware:
"When younger, I thought there was an answer to every problem. And for a time, I knew many of the answers.
I knew about parenting until I had children.
I knew about divorce until I got one.
I knew about suicide until three of my closest friends took their lives in the same year.
I knew about the death of a child until my child died.
I’m not as impressed with answers as once I was. Answers seem so pallid, sucked dry of blood and void of life."
Might I remind you that the bible also says to take all unruly children to the gates of town and have them stoned to death. I'm pretty sure the world would have become unpopulated many, many, many centuries ago if we were following that law.
