I have now for years decried the false gospel of the prosperity preachers. People like Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Paul & Jan Crouch, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Hagin, Joyce Meyer, Fred Price, Creflo Dollar and many more. John MacArthur has started a new series of blog posts, with the first post on 6 Dec 2009, highlighting the fraud of these heresy preachers. This series may just become a new call to Reformation in the church.

Schuller empire crumbling?

It seems dad Schuller and son Schuller could not sit together next to the camp fire. It also seems like the Schuller ministry is in a bit of financial trouble. IMHO, it would be better if this ministry closes. It has taught an enormous amount of false teaching and even heresy, that if it folds, it would probably be a good thing.

Fighting error in the church

If I've heard it once, I have heard it a thousand times. We should just love other Christians. It doesn't really matter what they believe, as long as they are sincere. It has become a truly hackneyed response by those who just don't seem to care for the truth. To them, standing for the truth is an otiose effort in light of the fact that we must love God. They just don't like loving God with their minds, though!

Jay Adams, from the Institute for Nouthetic Studies wrote a short summary of how the NT sees fighting for the truth and standing against false teaching.

I think that one of the main problems we have with people who say that we should not point out error in the teachings of others, is that they love reading the Bible devotionally, yet they never actually STUDY the Bible. Perhaps if they spend the time and effort to study the Bible, and not just treating it as a 30-day devotional script, they will start realising how important standing for the truth and against false teaching really is in the NT!

End Times nuttiness!

Every now and again a new 'prophet' comes on the scene. Now, whenever a person builds his whole ministry around the end times I become skeptical. That skepticism sometimes turns into hysterics, from laughter.

It is no different with Ronald Weinland. Here is a guy who has it all together. According to him, he is one of the two witnesses mentioned in the book of Revelation (11:3-12). Further, he claims that the First Trumpet of the 7th Seal will sound on April 17. Yes, the April 17 coming up in 10 days..., of 2008! So, put your seat belts on, because the ride of your life will be starting soon!

Weinland also claims to know who the 2nd witness is, whom he will reveal in a sermon on the Sabbath, 19 April, from Jerusalem. Of course, Weinland is so important in this scenario that he is also the spokesman for both of them!

He claims that Jesus will actually return on Thursday, September 29, 2011. The countdown of the last 1335 days started on 2 Feb 2008.

Of course, this is all a bunch of nonsense. Jesus made it clear that no-one will know when He is going to return.

Isn't it odd that according to the book of Revelation these two witnesses will display amazing miracles, yet, Weinland can't heal himself of a little laryngitis!

People like Weinland are the false prophets of our day.
