Jennifer Knapp, a former Christian artist comes out among rumours to admit that she is a lesbian. Must be fun to stab God in the back, telling Him that He doesn't know what kind of lifestyles these people want to live! Never mind what God demands!
Two years ago, another Christian artist, Ray Boltz, also "came out."
What does it mean to come out? It means that they will now live their immoral depraved lives in God's face and claim that He sanctions it!
All that we can do is pray for these people!

When "black" carries more weight than morality
It is a sad day, no, a calamitous day, for the church when it deems the colour of a person's skin more important, and of higher value than the morality, or in this case, immorality of a person!
Where is the church doing this? you may ask. Well, a large portion of the black church in America is doing just that!
On Sunday, 18 January 2009, some of the black church held the African American Church Inaugural Ball in celebration of Barack Hussein Obama's inauguration as U.S. president that will happen today.
I can understand that there is jubilation in the hearts of many blacks that there will now be a president that has at least half "black" blood in him. I am glad for them! But why the jubilation when the person they are so mesmerized by is a baby-killer, legalizer of sodomy and according to most accounts a communist?
Obama promised Planned Parenthood, that baby killing organisation, that he will sign FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act), in which the ban on partial-birth abortion will be overturned. That means, that human beings will again be further butchered simply because they are on the wrong side of the womb!
The apostle Paul wrote that as Christians we are "neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Gal 3:28) How is it that those involved in this celebration of the "pope of abortion" cannot see past their own skin colour? Why is it that they demand equal treatment by whites, but when something like this happens, they prove once again that their skin colour is more important than their professed belief in Christ, if any at all? Why is it that their skin colour is more important than the wholsesale slaughter of millions of babies? Is there no morality in the church? Where is true and pure religion, when those in the church celebrate a man that should be soundly condemned for his immoral and evil policies?
Oh, Lord, may your kindness lead these people to repentance! (Rom 2:4)
Further, Obama is also very pro-homosexuality. Does this not bother these people? I have already written on homosexuality, so I am not going to repeat myself.
Where is the church leading itself? When the church go off track like this, they are clearly forsaking the gospel of Christ and have forgotten the God of the gospel.
Perhaps, these are the days of the remnant. Many claim to be Christian, but there is only a remnant of real Christians.

Ray Boltz reveals he is gay!
An article on 12 September in the Washington Blade, an LGBT newspaper, revealed that Ray Boltz, singer of Christian hits such as 'Thank you,' 'Watch the Lamb' and many more is gay. Boltz's divorce from his wife was finalised earlier this year.
Boltz, in the article said that he does not "want to be a poster boy for gay Christians." I have one question on that statement. Would we ever talk of being poster boys for fornicating Christians, or perhaps for adulterous Christians?

Tim Challies has written a very good short commentary on this issue. He writes:
"There are essentially two ways that humans can understand the world. The first way is the way we all understand the world until the Holy Spirit intervenes in our lives and gives us new eyes to see. This worldview is I-centered. I am the center of my own universe and the arbiter of all truth. I may not vocalize things in just this way and may not even think them quite like this, but it is ultimately what I believe. I believe that I am capable of looking at the world and understanding the way it works—who God is, who I am, the relationship between us, and so on.
"The other way of seeing the world is God-centered. Here I acknowledge God as the center of all that exists and the arbiter of all truth. Everything that is true and everything that is knowable has its source in Him. Thus I can only interpret the world properly by rightly acknowledging God. This is, obviously, the biblical worldview. It is God who tells me who He is, God who tells me who I am and God who declares the terms of the relationship between us."

The gene and homosexuality - the sequel

It seems that some people simply cannot get past religion, especially Christianity. They use science as a smokescreen for supposed objectivity and to hide from their innate moral rebellion against God.
Recently, Prof George Claassen (University of Stellenbosch, South Africa), science editor of Die Burger, South Africa's largest Afrikaans daily paper, started hitting out against people of "faith." He did so in these columns he authored: 'Religion is a mental virus' (Aug 19, 2005), 'Switch on the baloney detectors' (Sep 2, 2005) and most recently Being gay 'is genetic' (Sep 9, 2005).
In 'Religion is a mental virus' Claassen made use of the all-knowing Richard Dawkins and his irrefutable evidence of evolution to "refute" people of "faith!" 'Switch on the baloney detectors' "proved" that people of "faith" were just not rational! Finally, in Being gay 'is genetic' Claassen once again uses the all-mighty SCIIEENCE! to prove that being gay is genetic.
It amazes me that Prof Claassen can be so vitriolic against people of "faith" because of their so-called irrationality, when he commits the very same crime!
It is one thing to claim that gays are born that way and that science has proven it, but it is yet another thing to ACTUALLY prove it!
The two studies that Claassen uses to give us proof of the gay "gene" give us no proof at all! He uses two studies, one by LeVay in 1991 and the other by Hamer in 1993. Both of these studies appeared in the Science Journal. Both of these studies have been debunked by other scientists.
LeVay
William Byne writes of LeVay’s work that it "has not been replicated, and human neuroanatomical studies of this kind have a very poor track record for reproducibility. Indeed, procedures similar to those LeVay used to identify nuclei have previously led researchers astray."[1]
Byne continues about LeVay’s findings by writing that "[h]is inclusion of a few brains from heterosexual men with AIDS did not adequately address the fact that at the time of death, virtually all men with AIDS have decreased testosterone levels as the result of the disease itself or the side effects of particular treatments. To date, LeVay has examined the brain of only one gay man who did not die of AIDS."[2]
It is also important to note LeVay’s own admission: "It’s important to stress what I didn’t find. I did not prove that homosexuality is genetic, or find a genetic cause for being gay. I didn’t show that gay men are born that way, the most common mistake people make in interpreting my work. Nor did I locate a gay center in the brain." (Quoted in Byrd)[3]
The biggest problem with this whole study is that it could not and did not prove whether this difference of the brain was the cause of the homosexuality or as a result of homosexuality.
Hamer, et al
The first problem with this study is that Hamer and his associates did not test whether the straight men in the families of the homosexuals also shared the genetic marker found in the homosexuals! Secondly, of the 40 pairs of homosexual brothers that Hamer tested, 7 pairs did not possess the matching DNA region called q28 found in the other 33 pairs. Hamer does not explain this difference in these 7 pairs of brothers. If q28 indeed is the homosexual marker, one would expect this marker to be present in all homosexuals. This was not the case!
Reasonable Doubt
So, as can be seen there is reasonable doubt as to whether these two studies discovered anything of value! For a more in-depth reply to the homosexual gene theory, "This is the Way God Made Me:" A Scientific Examination of Homosexuality and the "Gay Gene" by Brad Harrub, Ph.D. and Bert Thompson, Ph.D. and Dave Miller, Ph.D. is a good place to start.

The gene and homosexuality
The other day I was pondering the so-called "facts" of the homosexual gene. Now, if one believes in evolution (I personally do not), then it follows that homosexuality (if indeed it is caused by some mysterious gender-confused gene) is an aberration from nature and a non-beneficial mutation!
If the idea behind evolution is for genes to perpetuate and replicate themselves then homosexuality is the greatest blunder of evolution! Homosexuality cannot perpetuate itself and is therefore self-defeating! The fact that homosexuals still need women, and lesbians still need men to replicate themselves point to the fact that homosexuality is a deviance from the natural norm! That means that if homosexuals and lesbians do not cross-polinate with straights they cannot perpetuate their genes and therefore the so-called homosexual gene should be eliminated within a generation or so!
However, I expect that most of us (if not all of us) know that homosexuality and lesbianism are indeed aberrations. Most simply find it convenient to ignore their consciences by shouting very loud in the public arena that these conditions are normal!
The fact is that the highest authority, higher than countries' laws and judges, has spoken out on this issue. God has declared homosexuality and lesbianism sinful.
In Rom 1:18 the apostle Paul writes that "the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth." There is definitely a lot of suppressing going on in the homosexual (for lack of a better word) community. Paul continues to write that there is no excuse for people not to know about the existence of God since God made it clear in the creation of the universe (vv19-20).
People who continue to claim that either God does not exist or who claim He is different to what He really is, become fools (vv22-23). It is because of their own foolishness that "God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!" (vv24-25) Aberrations like homosexuality are a direct result of idolatry! Because of this idolatry, the apostle Paul writes quite emphatically that it is for "this reason [that] God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done." (vv 26-28)
Notice that homosexuality is not the only result of such a debased mind, even though it is highlighted and made to stand out apart from the general list! Paul carries on to mention several more sins (undoubtedly not an exhaustive list in verses 29-31), "They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless." Verse 32 warns us that though "they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them."
It is very convenient for many of us to stop reading this passage at verse 28 and then to conclude that homosexuality is a vile sin and will be punished in hell! The fact is that all sin, homosexuality as much as any other sin, deserve to be punished before a Holy God! God is an exacting God and any aberration from His holy standard must be judged as inferior and punishable by eternal death.
Yet, even though God hates sin and all wicked people (which includes all humanity!), because of His grace and mercy He sent Christ to die for His people as a propitiation to turn away the wrath of God for those that believe in Jesus Christ!
Even though we are beset on all sides with sin, there is a way; and that way can only be found in Christ!
